I was just sharing a story about Nick with my family this weekend, and was shocked to learn of his passing. I have very warm and fond memories of the times we spent together, and wish I could have seen my friend again. I remember sledging through the woods on his birthday - with zero snow, and many trees. He always had the most wonderful ideas. Bless you, my brother.

I worked with Nick for only four months and and found him a pleasure to work with and he always had time for everyone I pray that he has found peace. Keith Welford

We had a lot in common man, some of it I didn't even know about until today. It seems that, as well as our shared love of hard rock and the wilder edge of country music, you loved hot, spicy, Asian food, Beer, and play the drums! I only got to know you last year but there was no-one at work I enjoyed chatting to more. I know we would have got closer over time, especially as you are one of the few people I've ever met at work that seemed to match my high energy levels haha!! I still have those tickets for Brothers Osborne in Cambridge which we should have gone to in May but "The Virus" prevented that from happening; it makes me so sad that I won't get to go to the rescheduled gig with ya matey; we would've gone crazy together :) And we'd only just got talking about you auditioning as drummer for my covers band... who knows where that might've led. Thank you for the opportunity to join this beautiful farewell. Reading and hearing stories of Nick brought back even more wonderful memories of him and his often mentioned quirks stand out even more. He was so consistently unpredictable and beautiful person. So strong to only shine the happy light for all around him... Rest In Peace, you were like a brother.

Dear Nick , you and Alex were the best of friends , I remember all the scrapes you both got into having a great time together , and as an adult you were. Kind loving and a faithful friend . I will never forget the night just after John had died when you helped me pick up papers out of the snow after Alex had gone a little crazy . You are greatly loved and sadly missed by all your many friends and your dear family most of all . At peace now.

Some people are meant to meet. Nick and I agreed we were in that group. Drummers, whisky and music lovers amongst other things. The Scottish link is the obvious one. I considered him a true Scotsman anyway. “MORNING EVERYONE!” He would shout as he entered the office every day with a purposeful and confident stride to his desk. Unerringly effervescent. Usually quickly followed with “Ohh ! Cakes!” Many Good times had with an amazing human RIP My gentle, ever smiling and sociable friend. Truly One of a kind. Nick Goodwin. You’ll never be forgotten. It is so comforting to hear from his friends - both old and new - about what a genuine friend Nick was to everyone. I had never really thought about this before, but I honestly can't think of a single time he made an unkind comment or did a mean-spirited thing. Not many people you can say that about.

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
